Blog Award

I was so surprised and chuffed to bits to be nominated for this blogging award this week by Veronica, Gio and Asta... three wonderful ladies who's blogs are an inspiration to me. Thank you ladies! Though I really don't deserve it.

The Rules are...

1. The winner can display this award on their blog.
2. Display a link to the person you have gotten the award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs you like.
4. Set the links to the blogs on your blog.
5. Leave a comment on the blogs you have chosen.

How difficult is it to choose among some of the wonderful blogs I read regularly... In no particular order...

1. Michelle at Bleeding Espresso
2. Just Eat Lah....
3. Dani at A Work in Progress
4. Cherrye at My Bella Vita
5. Eleni at But First I...
6. Sasha at Collection of Moments
7. ALL the wonderful stitching/needlework blogs out there... I can't choose just a few! You're all an inspiration to me. Is that cheating? Oh well...

----

A little note... I'm so sorry that I haven't blogged very much lately. I'm behind (once again) on my blog reading too. July has been an incredibly busy month with work, trips, visitors and other things. No stitching either! :( Ah well, c'est la vie.... I'm sure I'll have lots more free time again when the summer is over.

Federica & Aldo

No stitching photos this week. Can you believe I haven't picked up my stitching in over a week? I'm way behind with my blog reading too!

Congratulations to Federica & Aldo!

A finish, some Wimbledon and a quick Meme

I finished off "A Pennsylvania Christmas Sampler" during the amazing men's final at Wimbledon today (before their first rain break). I took some photos of it in natural light this time, but they ended up coming out worse than the ones with my daylight lamp! Go figure! Move to a warmer (and brighter) climate?! Apologies for the poor photos (again!)

I so loved stitching this, it's definitely on my list of favourites. I stitched it on Picture This Plus Legacy Newcastle Linen with HDF & NPI silks. I'm amazed I finished this over the course of the past week, because it feels like I haven't stitched much at all. It must have been all those tennis matches I've been watching (and stitching to). ;-)

And speaking of which, what a Wimbledon final that was. WOW! I was hoping Federer would win his 6th consecutive title if I'm honest (I bet Björn Borg was relieved - they get to share the record for five consecutive titles now, which I guess should be a safe record for a while!), but how can you not be happy for Nadal? Those are both the greatest of champions in every sense of the word. It's a shame there could only be one winner.

And a little meme that I've seen on several blogs lately and looks like fun.

The Concept:

a. Type your answer to each of the questions below into Flickr Search.
b. Using only the first page, pick an image.
c. Copy and paste each of the URLs for the images into fd's mosaic maker.

The Questions:

1. What is your first name?
2. What is your favorite food?
3. What high school did you go to?
4. What is your favorite color?
5. Who is your celebrity crush?
6. Favorite drink?
7. Dream vacation?
8. Favorite dessert?
9. What you want to be when you grow up?
10. What do you love most in life?
11. One word to describe you.
12. Your flickr name.

And this is what I came up with...

Click to make it larger!

My Answers...
1. What is your first name? Concetta
2. What is your favorite food? Pasta
3. What high school did you go to? Notre Dame
4. What is your favorite color? Autumn colours
5. Who is your celebrity crush? Jeff Bridges
6. Favorite drink? Latte Macchiato
7. Dream vacation? Tuscany
8. Favorite dessert? Sfogliatelle (totally forgot to put this in my favourite "snacks/treats" in my last meme... )
9. What you want to be when you grow up? (when I was a kid?) a teacher
10. What do you love most in life? family and friends
11. One word to describe you. organised (most of the time)
12. Your flickr name. Positano

A note about the "crush": Jeff Bridges! I had a decent selection on the first page of Flickr to choose from, but they all seemed a bit dull... to see him in character as "The Dude" always has me in stitches... The Big Lebowski is such a great film! :-)

I hope everyone has a great week! I'm going to be very busy... I don't anticipate much stitching time! :-(

ETA: In honour of my cousin Aldo who's getting married on Saturday, I found these photos of us from when we were kids - it must have been way back in 1983 in Italy. I'm 8 and he's 9. Very attractive background in both photos huh? Especially the one in the bathroom! LOL! Ah... those were fun summers, though!
