Heart's Sampler HD!

By Heart in Hand Designs. This was a lot of fun to stitch, and only took a few hours. Note that the flower button is too large! I must have picked up the bigger one without noticing. I think I got away with it, though... JUST.

Crescent Dreams: The Return

If you look carefully, you'll see that the names and dates of births are ever so slightly different, which PROVES that it's not the same one! ;-)

I'm very happy I stitched this, as my friend loves it, but remind me not to do the same two designs back to back ever again! I won't be doing this one again in a LONG while...

Summer Afternoon Happy Dance!

I finally managed to get this finished. Almost exactly 18 months after I started it in August 2004. If you'd like to see much better and clearer photos please go to my webshots album:

http://community.webshots.com/album/547975019ZHBcgS.

I'll have to reposition the bee charm though, as it doesn't look right. It's actually a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be, so I'm thinking of replacing it with something else entirely.

This was one of my favourite things that I've ever stitched, so in a way I'm sad that it IS finished. On the bright side, I have the other three seasons all kitted and ready to go. I hope it doesn't take me 18 months to complete each of them, though!

I have lots of photos to share today!

But first! Snoopy in a contemplative mood. :)

Introducing Snoopy!

Sitting next to an issue of Cross Stitch Gold! He likes to pose with the stitching when I get around to taking photos of it. :-)

Mother's Heart

I had Mother's Heart (by Shepherd's Bush) framed at the same time as Crescent Dreams recently. I was very pleased with how this one turned out, too. What I'm even happier about is finally finding a framer that a) know's what he's doing when it comes to framing needlework and b) charges very reasonable prices. The framing/mat/labour for MH was only £18. I think that's a bargain. If anyone in the Dunbartonshire area is looking for a fantastic framer, let me know!

Stitching Updates

I'll soon have a happy dance! I only need to do a little beading, then Chatelaine's Summer Afternoon (Enchanted Gardens series) will be complete. I started it in August 2004. I have no idea why it took this long to finish, because it was a joy to stitch and actually stitched up pretty quickly. I guess I took a few really long breaks inbetween - typical me! After I finish it, I will have to quickly move on to finishing up Mirabilia's Crescent Dreams for my friend Debbie. Her brother had a little boy at the end of December, and she asked me to stitch this for him as a Christening gift, after seeing the one I did for my cousins new baby. Speaking of which, I got my cousin's gift framed recently, and was really pleased with how it turned out. :-)

Post Numero Uno

First Post! Always the most difficult to write. I wasn't very good at updating the last blog I created in 2004, so I'm determined to be much better with this one. Hmmm. I think I've written that somewhere before. So we'll see. :) I got into online journals in the late 1990s, when my friend Lisa in NZ introduced me to them, and I've always enjoyed them since then.
